Luna vs Klimov
Undefeated lightweight Alejandro Luna (22-0, 15KOs) adds another victory to his perfect record as he faced the tough challenger Andrey Klimov (19-3, 9 KOs) in their co-main bout on PBC on FS1, April 9, 2017 from The Novo by Microsoft in Los Angeles, CA.
Luna opened up round one with a powerful body shot, followed up with a 1-2 high/low combo and a hook up top as both he and Klimov showcased their boxing prowess. Although Klimov withstood plenty of strong shots, Luna maintained his stance as the aggressor for the opening rounds and continued to apply that pressure as a mechanism to maintain his power.
Shortly after witnessing the tenacity and aggression of Luna, Klimov began to counter via clean double jabs and a few solid right hands. Luna utilizes his power, causing a small incision on Klimov’s left eye.
Showing now signs of slowing down in the later rounds, Lunda began his plan to attack the body via 20-second combination as he began to stun Klimov with each landing shot.
Lunda had no trouble reminding that he’s undefeated for a reason as he brought home the win via Unanimous Decision.
Lopez vs Corral
Josesito Lopez makes a return to the ring for the second time after a lengthy hiatus as he faced off against Saul Corral, in a scheduled 10-round welterweight bout on Sunday, April 9th, 2017 at The Novo by Microsoft in Los Angeles, CA on PBC on FS1.
Corral opened up the first round with a clean hook as Lopez lacked the initial aggression to set the tone for the fight. After slightly missing his opportunity to gain control of the fight in the earlier rounds, Lopez releases a smothering combination followed up with a strong body shot.
As the fight arrived to the middle rounds, both Lopez and Corral released lethal combinations. Although Lopez finishes strong by delivering two jaw shaking right hands in round 6 as Corral closes round 7 with a vicious hook.
After going the full distance, Lopez found his position of power and used that position to close in the latter rounds via left hooks, combination and jaw-checking jabs.
Lopez improves his record to (35-7, 19 KOs )win by way of Unanimous Decision.
Balderas vs Smith
Karlos Balderas made his pro debut tonight as he faced Texas-native Thomas Smith in a scheduled six-round super featherweight bout opener on PBC on FS1 card in Los Angeles, California.
Baleras opened up the night with determination and power via a robust, yet controlled right hand.
After smothering Smith with tenacity, accuracy and precision throughout the first round, Balderas defeated Smith by way of TKO seconds before the beginning of round two.
Balders starts his pro debut off with a strong with, improving his record to 1-0.
