Heavyweights Wes Nofire and Joey Abell made the crowd rise to their feet with at TKO on PBC on FS1 Tuesday, May 17.
Nofire (19-1, 15 KOs), an undefeated fighter who had never been knocked down looked to continue his streak against Joey Abell (32-9, 30 KOs) who was returning from a loss in November.
Abell decided that it was time to end that streak and take that undefeated from Wes Nofire. Nofire began to box Abell, using his distance to set up jabs and straights, but he couldn’t avoid the left coming from Abell. Exchanges were thrown by both fighters, but Abell had Nofire’s number, finding a way to connect every punch he through. In the second round Nofire was knocked down for the first time in his career.
Nofire was clearly hurt as Round 3 started. His pace slowed and he couldn’t put two punches together. In 45 seconds Nofire was sent to the canvas for the second time.
Connecting with 42% of his punches, Joey Abell finished Wes Nofire by TKO with one minute left in round 3.
